Foul smells from air conditioners are most usually triggered with the help of dust, mold and microorganism that build up within the unit. These smell causing particles may be discovered on condenser coils, evaporator coils, drain pans and filters. Moisture and heat make the smells even worse, sending odors through your entire air conditioner system. Cleaning the coils and drain pan, and replacing filters will get rid of maximum foul odors. Regular cleaning will also save you odors from ever going on and maintain the air conditioner jogging efficiently.

· Turn off the energy to the ceiling air conditioner at the breaker box.

· Open the evaporator coil cover. This is generally in the home close to the furnace or air handler and is protected via panels within the form of an a-frame. Some panels are held in the region with the aid of screws, others really raise out of the frame.

· Run a stiff piece of wire through the condenser pan drain. The straightened clothes hanger works well. Push out any dirt or debris that might be clogging the drainage hole.

· Brush away any mold or dust within the pan and rinse with clear water.

· Add condenser pan purifier to the drain pan according to the manufacturer’s directions.

· Remove dirt, particles, and moisture from the coils. Brush off obvious dust with a soft, easy rag, then vacuum out ultimate dust with a wet/dry vacuum.

· Spray coils with coil cleaner, following the manufacturer’s directions, to cast off any closing dirt, mold, or bacteria.

· Slide the filter of the cooler.

· Inspect the filter out for dirt, particles, and mold. If it is not easy or has been in use for three or more months, replace the filter out.

· Replace the evaporator coil panels.

· Remove the panel protecting the condenser coils on the air conditioner unit placed outside.

· Rinse the coils with water, using a hose and sprayer.

· Spray the coils with condenser coil cleanser.

· Replace the panel masking the condenser coils.

· Wait for the outer part of the cooler to dry.

· Turn the power lower back directly to the cooler.
